Bear Lake 2011

We always enjoy our annual trips to Bear Lake. It's great to spend time with family, to get to know each other a little bit better. The kids always have a great time playing together. They would run around all night if we would let them. This year we had a full house! We usually rent a condo, but because of most of the family being there this year we had to rent a cabin. It was fun!

The water level there rose over 10 feet because of the unusually wet Spring we had. That put a kink in our normal schedule. Our usual beach was completely covered in water. Instead of driving less than 5 minutes to the beach, it was at least 20. The water wasn't the beautiful "Caribbean" blue either. I really missed that. It was pretty...just not as pretty.

The weather the first day was rainy and cold. We decided to go to a nearby cave instead of sitting in the cabin. It was the Minnetonka caves in Idaho. When we go to Bear Lake it is beach time. We stay at the beach all day, every day. So unfortunately we didn't pack for anything else and only had shorts and flip flops. We froze inside the cave because it was only 40 degrees. Luckily Blake got antsy and I "had" to leave and sit in the warm car.

Once the rain stopped the rest of the day was BEAUTIFUL...

We only had one wave runner because one broke down the week before. Then that one died on the second day. We were wave runner-less for the rest of the trip. :(

Random pics...

Love his teeth...or lack there of.

Big boy on a big chair.

The newlyweds.

Most of the clan. There was one more shade on the left side that I couldn't get in the picture.

Evan as a mermaid.

We can't wait for next year!

Evan makes such a beautiful mermaid. We've gone to Bear Lake a couple of times for family reunions. It is gorgeous.

oh fun! I love Bear Lake. I'm sad that it wasn't the correct color though! And that your jet skis broke down! But still--fun! daishan

We love Bear Lake also! So much fun! Too bad there wasn't much beach this year. It looks like you made the most of it!
